Guam Visitors Bureau started the Guam Shopping festival 5 years back with an aim to create an interactive shopping experience highlighting Guam as a modern, fashionable and diverse destination to shop. With changing times, this festival in its fifth year, has transformed into an e-Festival that fully embraces the vision of “Smart Tourism.”

With a mobile app named Shop Guam to help the shoppers, the entire experience has turned mobile. Visiting Guam has added a new dimension to the experience with this shopping festival. The Shop Guam app is equipped with on-location sensors thereby adding a fresh way to discover Guam’s shopping and activities. Also as a first, coupons will no longer be printed and the alternative will be a new Savings Passport. This will not only encourage mobile app downloads for opportunities to win monthly shopping prizes, but also save tons of paper, thereby making the entire festival more eco-friendly than ever.
